Crayola Webinar: Crafting a Unifying School Vision

Presented by Cheri Sterman, Crayola Director of Education

A school vision must be a living, breathing tool, not a statement that collects dust and is easily forgotten. A collaboratively, illustratively crafted school vision brings a sense of purpose, alignment and comradery to the entire faculty. We will introduce you to a simple process that engages colleagues and builds deeper understanding of each other’s sense of purpose and pedagogy. This process helps to establish a universal vocabulary and align on key words that belong in your school vision statement. Using the Art Elements and Principles of Design, educators will visually express the meaning of their vision. Build consensus and you visually show your priorities.

Learning outcomes:

  • Explore an exercise that will help your Learning Community articulate and align on a collaboratively crafted school vision. See examples of how other schools have used this and how their vision statements come alive.
  • Use the Art Elements and Principles of Design to visually communicate the meaning in your school vision.
  • Be inspired to post your collaboratively crafted school vision.
